July 3, 2020
As our nation prepares to celebrate the birth of the United Stated of America this weekend, we are celebrating a special milestone - the 54th Anniversary of the Fellowship Community!
Today, we recognize the bold pioneers who founded our community. They had a vision for a different way of life based on love and service to each other. Through dedication and perseverance they made that vision a reality that has stood the test of time.
The Fellowship was founded on July 3, 1966 by Dr. Paul and Ann Scharff, who believed that elder care could be provided in a more humane way, in a community-focused environment, based on the principles of Rudolf Steiner's Anthroposophy.
The Fellowship is a unique place, where individuals of all ages are valued and nurtured, where people are given the chance to share their talents for the benefit of others, and to contribute to a larger purpose.
Despite such heavy burdens, today we celebrate the resiliency of the founders of the Fellowship Community, all of the thousands of people who have lived and worked here, and those whose lives have been touched by the Fellowship for more than half a century.
We are a strong community, based on love, respect and mutual support, and we know that with your help we can overcome the difficulties that we face right now. Together, we can ensure that the Fellowship will thrive for next 54 years and beyond!
Thanks for your continued support of everyone at the Fellowship Community.
Nancy Leopold, Interim Administrator
Together we've raised over $107,000 to help the elderly residents who were displaced due a devastating fire at Pine Lodge in May 2020.
Thank you for your Support!
