Our Independent Living apartments or lodges are designed for seniors that desire the conveniences and security of community living. Our senior apartments are restricted by age (65 and older) and as such residents are surrounded by people of similar age and interests.
We have apartments of various styles to fit your needs, and all are equipped with an emergency call button which alerts the caretakers at Hilltop House so you can enjoy the comfort of knowing that, if needed, assistance is close-by. Each lodge has about ten to twelve apartments of varying size.
There is a shared living room upon entering and each lodge has other activities such as our medical offices or library with their own separate entrances. All of our lodges have access to the nature trails throughout the community right outside their doorstep, making it even easier to enjoy the beautiful woods an farmland surrounding the community. Most importantly, all Members are invited and highly encouraged to participate in our community through festivals and events, various tasks, workshops, and more!
Our Independent Living units offer the following services and amenities:
Studio, One and Two bedroom apartments
Fully equipped kitchen
Resident-controlled heat and AC
All utilities inclusive (gas, electric, water, trash)
Wired for telephone, cable and internet
Private outdoor patios (in some units)
Routine unit maintenance, including snow removal
Common space in all buildings to socialize with other members
Scheduled transportation for local shopping
Access to homemade organic meals (meal plan or per meal)
Access to all activities, excursions, workshops, and events
Easy access to all community walking trails
There are three apartment styles for our independent members: studio, alcove, and single bedroom apartments. In addition, there are many available levels of independent living to allow people to progress through their personal stages of life with total peace of mind. A member may come in to the community living in an independent housing building, but later in life wish to move to an independent apartment in our main building (Hilltop House) for additional support or simply to lessen their walking distance to community events.
