At the Fellowship, we welcome independent members and those requiring more assistance. Our way of working meets the whole human being, and we understand that there is more to you than your stage of life, illness, or disability.
Our community is not just a place to retire: it's a place to live, from birth to death, in health and in illness. It is a community designed for and centered on the elderly, allowing you to be surrounded by and embedded within the full range of the daily activities of life, being carried out by people of all ages.
Here, we offer ample opportunities for an individual to be actively involved in real work until this becomes impossible. Some members volunteer occasionally within the community, and others make a daily or weekly commitment to community activities like gardening, cooking, creating in our workshops (including the pottery studio and the weavery), and more. Those who are no longer capable of engaging actively in work are able to participate simply by being present, as these activities are always going on in their midst.
Our Independent Living apartments are designed for independent seniors that desire the conveniences of community living. Apartment living offers an easier lifestyle for an older adult since there is no more yard work and household repairs. And because senior apartments are age restricted, older adults are surrounded by people of similar age and interests. All independent members are invited to participate in our various festivals, workshops, and more! Additionally many members are given access to community meals for an additional fee.
When more assistance is needed in daily life, residence in Hilltop House is available for current independent members. There are several levels of care at Hilltop House depending on individual needs. Some more independent members may receive assistance in daily tasks like room cleaning, shopping trips, and meals, while more aid is available when needed (i.e. dispensing medicine, mobility assistance, and additional medical care). These members are still included in community life and are given assistance to attend various events and activities.
