Co-workers, in their words

"I'm part of a team that helps make people's lives worth living.
We're providing services that may seem menial,
but they are essential for a good quality of life."

"This morning I did a test on a member; it was a medical procedure.
I've been considering this:
How do we find the grace in these little repetitive things that we do every day?
How do we make it less of a procedure and more of a service of the heart?"

"How can I learn that striving to continuously give will help everyone and build the future?
It's not always positive because you encounter yourself...What was it Goethe said?
'I've come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element.'"

"I'm working with Harvey today. (He's in second grade at Green Meadow Waldorf School.)
We've been building a frame for the children's play area.
                Harvey helped to finish and sand down the wood over there;
now he's helping to dig a channel around the sandbox to place it in.
It's good work and Harvey will always be able to
look at it and see himself... a well-framed boy, no?"

"Today I'm doing the unexpected. I don't mind.
I'll be doing medicines, so my husband will have the children.
But his work is flexible today and it works out."

"I've been here in the candle shop for 12 or 13 years.
Every time small challenges come up, it excites me.
At first I don't know what will happen. Then it's sort of like magic,
it just works out. Hand-dipping is very meditative."
